Photography and me—whether it’s a fleeting street moment or a crafted portrait
If we haven’t met yet—hi, I’m Marco. I’m a photographer based in Jersey City and NYC, and for the past few years, I’ve been working behind the scenes in the world of photography, capturing everything from street moments to commercial work, and retouching/editing projects in both the travel and commercial space.
I started my journey almost 4 years ago freelancing on weddings, events, rock climbing and headshots which eventually led me to work with Michael Yamashita, a National Geographic photographer, handling photo editing, tech, and production. That experience taught me the ins and outs of storytelling through images—how a single frame can carry emotion, history, and depth.
Beyond that, I’ve had my work recognized by people I admire, like Brooke Raboutou, an Olympic climber, and Hasselblad, a beloved camera manufacturer. But while those moments have been huge milestones, my real passion has always been portraiture—capturing people in a way that feels cinematic, expressive, and true to who they are.
Where I’m Taking Things Next
I’m shifting my focus toward editorial/branding portraiture—whether that’s professional headshots that feel natural or creative portraits that bring out someone’s essence. My goal is to blend studio precision with environmental storytelling, crafting images that feel as authentic as they are visually striking. If you’ve been following my work, you’ll start to see more of this direction unfold. This newsletter is where I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes insights, my creative process, and opportunities for you to be part of it.
